The Championship Course

Classic Arizona Golf

Founded in 1953, the 18-hole Championship Course at Scottsdale CC was Scottsdale’s first golf club. An original design of Lawrence Hughes, the course was re-imagined in the 1990s by Arnold Palmer. Today, it remains classic golf in the heart of “The West’s Most Western Town.” It’s a superb golf course and a welcome hang-out, open to players of all levels.

Playing just over 6,100 yards, par 70, the course offers four sets of tees so everyone can choose their own degree of challenge. Tree-lined fairways create a parkland golf experience unique to Scottsdale. Even with its several water hazards, the course opens the door to scoring success at every turn. The ‘almost-an-island’ 4th hole is a par-3 standout. The finishing holes include two dramatic water carries at the 16th and 17th.

“The People’s Country Club,” the championship course at Scottsdale CC is Arizona golf the way it was nearly 75 years ago. Except way less ugly and stupid. It’s modern golf, but with a flair for Scottsdale history.

The Six Shooter

Completely re-imagined in 2026 by Forrest Richardson, The Six Shooter is Scottsdale's newest course and about as much fun as anyone should be allowed to have playing golf. Nine par-3s and one 180-foot long ‘par-2’ — a hole that can occasionally yield a hole-in-one, but more often 3-putt bogies.

Ten holes of golf joy, hosted by “Dick the Cowboy,” the course’s resident mascot and local partner. Holes include ‘Raisin Cain’,’ ‘Shorty,’ ‘Dick’s Hat Trick’ and the iconic ‘Blue Boulder’. The 30,000 lb boulder was hauled up from north of Ol’ Tucson and now proudly sits in the middle of this punchbowl green. It was even featured in Golf Magazine. A round on The Six Shooter is less than two hours, allowing more time for sunbathing, shopping — or more golf.

The Bandana Green

A Scottsdale Hangout

The Bandana is Scottsdale CC’s signature 9-hole putting course. A huge green with 9 putting holes surrounding a rock garden of cactus and desert flowers. It’s not uncommon to see players balancing beers, clubs and wads of bills — all for fun and to settle bets amongst friends. Enjoy The Bandana throughout the day. Free to play and no tee times needed.
